Live at The Flinders (2nd June, 2018)—with Andrew Fazzolari

Here is a fresh new mix from us—and one that definitely gives us the warm and fuzzies!

So, our ‘Attic‘ brand as a whole, the music we push—and, indeed, Andrew and I as individual DJs—is often centred around music on the lower, slower, deeper, warm-up tip. That is a label we’ve always worn with pride.

Well, in this instance, our good friend, Flynn—of ‘Move 4 Mood’ fame—was kind enough to book us for a “peak time” set at The Flinders, and, with that, an opportunity to exercise our tougher, uptempo selections; as such, we did just that!

We were fortunate to enjoy a heaving, packed dance floor from start to finish, and we delivered a strong selection of suitable cuts—all while staying fairly true to our Attic sound. The crowd response was phenomenal and we had a wonderful time making it all happen—hence the “warm and fuzzies” mentioned above! 😉

Hope you enjoy this one as much as we did!

Live at Attic Launch Night featuring Fouk!

Well, what a truly magical night that was! We’re truly pleased to have brought you our first — of hopefully, many — Attic events and will reflect on this one with big smiles for a long, long time!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us — there were positive vibes right throughout the place from start-to-finish, and everyone in attendance was incredibly complimentary.

To see a project we’ve envisioned and carefully-crafted over some time — whilst throwing our blood and sweat into it in the process! — turn into something so wonderful leaves us with an enormous sense of satisfaction.

Fittingly, everyone brought their ‘A’ game musically:

To the Rabbit : mate, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. You’re a true gentleman of the scene. The opening set of any given night can present a tricky scenario and is absolutely critical, but you nailed it — even from the first sample, “No, I’m just some kind of sick idiot who’s seen too many young men die…” Just superb!

To Hans and Daniel (Fouk): Well, what can we say?! Everyone who witnessed the almost three-hour journey can attest that they were present for something very, very special, indeed.

As well as being talented producers, it’s refreshing to know that you’re seasoned and highly-accomplished technicians behind the 1’s and 2’s. You took our guests on a melodic journey and they remained with you for the long haul and danced the night away.

A special thanks also to Doris, Maria and Mike for your contributions and assistance throughout the night. This is very much a family affair, and we couldn’t have done it without you. A special mention to Andreas, too!

We’ll also have some photos, video and music from the night coming very shortly, too, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

So, with that, here is my recorded set from the evening. I played after Rabbit Taxi and right before Fouk. The crowd response was exceptional, and seeing it all build up in anticipation four our headline act was highly satisfying!

We’ll be back at it again very soon, so stay tuned for further announcements and dates! 😉

Thanks again, everyone. It’s been our absolute pleasure.

Live at S*A*S*H Mix (4th December, 2016)

Here is the recording from my recent set at S*A*S*H, closing The Den in the early hours of Monday morning!

Massive shouts to the super-receptive crowd who danced right throughout — many of whom very likely kicking on from the ‘Tell No Tales’ festival from earlier in the day!

I was able to play a wide range of tunes that are currently floating my boat: from my current Attic-style cuts, some disco-infused house, concluding on more of a drum-driven tip.

With that, special thanks must be paid to the S*A*S*H crew — particular Cris — for the booking consideration (and indeed, trust), once again. And certainly not to forget George (Mesan) who played an outstanding, warm set to open up the room and attract a “proper Den crowd”.

Really hope you like this one! Until next time…

Live at Sly Fridays Mix (8th July, 2016)

Well, here is my recorded set from ‘Sly Fridays’ on Friday night — well, Saturday morning, to be precise — hosted at ‘Slyfox’ in Newtown. I played the closing set of the night: from 3 AM, right until closing time at six.

Without too much of an idea of what I was going to play; I threw caution to the wind a bit and pulled out a selection of disco, house, some chunkier, deeper drum-driven stuff and pulled it right back towards the end finishing on an uplifting tip — much to the delight of some weary punters!

In particular, I wanted to send out special thanks to Jackson Winter the mastermind of this Friday shindig: firstly, for booking me, and for the extended three-hour slot, which really gave me a chance to stretch the legs musically and rip out some wax that has been burning holes in my record box, itching for the right forum to play!

You have an excellent product in this night — choosing perfectly appropriate selectors, bringing deeper, and sometimes eclectic, vibes right throughout the evening ’till late. It really shows that the tunes don’t need to be tough-as-nails to keep the late-night hungry punters entertained!

Shouts to the other DJs on bill, Donald Leicester and James Cripps!

I personally had a lovely time playing for the incredibly receptive “silent disco” crowd, bringing in Saturday morning!

Hope you enjoy the set as much!

Live at S*A*S*H Mix (20th March, 2016)

Well, the dust has settled on what was a truly brilliant afternoon and again, that the rain proved absolutely no match for the positive vibes and energy that was S.A.S.H. — on this occasion, The Chapel Edition!

I really enjoyed myself, playing a selection of my current favourites — as well as a few other selections from deeper in the box from yesteryear. It was also my first opportunity for a while, to play some vinyl! Of course, it was made all the more pleasurable by the receptive, warm-welcoming crowd (who you’ll hear, make an appearance in this mix!)

I was fortunate to receive the booking for the 4–6 set time, and — courtesy of one Jackson Winter — the afternoon was already nicely warmed up when I jumped on!

Once again, this S.A.S.H. crew really knows how to run a party — regardless of the conditions!

Big ups and much, much love to Cris, Kerry, Matt, Harley, Shana, and everyone who boogied away to my set!

…and you can enjoy it — hopefully! — again (or perhaps for the first time), below:

New Mix: Main Room Live 002 (Warm-Up Edition)

Here is a new mix from me; another entry to my ‘Main Room Live’ series, and it’s been a very, very long time between drinks — the first in the series, was a pumping tech. house effort back in 2010.

In constructing this mix, I tried to encapsulate my ideal warm-up set for a theoretical evening. It’s eleven o’clock, the opening set has concluded and the intention is to keep the dancefloor warm and continue the rolling flow of the evening — achieved with deep, rich and some melodic flavours, setting the stage nicely for the main event.

I took a bit of time sourcing tunes of preference to put this one together. Naturally, there were plenty more that I wanted to include, but didn’t completely fit with the desired narrative. (Another day, perhaps.)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the mix. As per, comments, feedback (and if you really like it, bookings) would be welcomed! 😉
