Live at Analogue Discogue at Rekodo Restaurant & Vinyl Bar, Sydney (23rd July, 2023)

Analogue Discogue is an esteemed hi-fi, vinyl-only event hosted by house and disco aficionado, Norm De Plume.

We were invited to join the line-up for its July event: a sun-kissed Sunday afternoon affair hosted at the exquisite, Japanese-inspired Rekōdo Restaurant & Vinyl Bar at Sydney’s Barangaroo.

Rekōdo‘s crystal-clear Klipsch sound system sounded expectedly immaculate right throughout the afternoon’s proceedings: the clarity and warmth of the system provided an ambient yet immersive experience for diners and listeners, alike. It was an absolute pleasure.

The Fazz and I came prepared, armed and loaded with a couple of boxes of carefully selected favourites—a concoction of newer burners and some favourites from yesteryear—and did our very best to fly the Attic flag proudly.

Hope you enjoy!

Live at Cafe del Mar (22nd February, 2020)

Alright, well, as promised… more content incoming!

For greater historical context; I’ll include the original copy below—it probably paints a clearer picture of my thoughts/feelings at the time, amidst the unbelievable period in which we currently find ourselves!

TL;DR: I played this set in February (pre-lockdown) and posted it around a month later (during lockdown)—and hey, even if you don’t read the passage in its entirety; well, I hope you enjoy the set all the same! 😉

A lot can change in a month…

While I recorded and delivered this particular set at Café del Mar in Sydney almost exactly a month ago; it feels considerably longer than that. Since this short space of time, there is a collective feeling—to me a least—that we’ve lost a lot our innocence… on both, a local and global level.

At the time, I can recall considering the current COVID-19/coronavirus situation as nothing more than an afterthought, a conversational filler, a punchline. There were no suggestions of any lockdown, no cancelled events, no indefinite business closures. There was a palpable buzz in the air and people were out on the town enjoying a balmy, late-Summer evening.

A lot can change in a month…

While I, and many of my esteemed colleagues, have taken to the Facebook Live airwaves to deliver a positive message of music during the last week or so; I also hope that this particular offering may serve a similar purpose: an accompanying side-dish to your respective isolated, remote working or otherwise uncertain endeavours, perhaps.

This isn’t a typical set that you might hear me play in a club nor even as part of our Attic project. For that reason, I originally intended to keep this as a private offering only. All things considered, it feels right to share it out.

It’s an uplifting, disco-centric offering—full of big vocals and positive melodies. I had an enjoyable time throwing it together, and I hope it translates as such.

I hope you enjoy it during these uncertain times and hope you’re otherwise staying positive and healthy.

Much love!

Live at Attic presents Bellaire (16th February, 2019)

We’ve been pretty busy over the last couple of months—more bookings, more dates and subsequently, more recorded mixes!

This is one that I really enjoyed putting together and executing. For context, Andrew and I had spent the afternoon cruising Sydney Harbour—literally!—supporting Bellaire at the debut Anchor Events event. That mix is actually available here: https://soundcloud.com/andrewfazzolari/live_at_anchor_2019

After jumping off the cruise—again, in the literal sense—we set things up at Harpoon Harry for our Attic evening shindig, eagerly awaiting Bellaire‘s arrival…

This was my warm-up effort—lower, slower, but maintaining some “funk” and the disco edge, and I hope you like it!

A bunch of the usual suspects are included: Folamour, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Dirtytwo, etc. on some of our favourite labels, Moonrise Hill Material, Razor-N-Tape, Editorial Records, SlothBoogie, etc.

Stay locked for more Attic action real soon, too!

Live at Attic presents Cody Currie (7th December, 2018)

Massive thanks to everyone who came down, packed out and partied with us at our Attic presents Cody Currie event.

We enjoyed excellent, positive vibes right throughout the evening—from the deeper, disco warm-ups early on, all the way to the pumping dance floor burners during the early hours from Norm De Plume and Cody, himself!

Special thanks also to Carly, Picnic Touring & Events and the team at Harpoon Harry for providing us with our playground for the evening!

Here is my solo warm-up hour—filled with lower, slower selections that happen to be tickling me in all the right places—as well as another hour, back-to-back with Andrew Fazzolari, right before Cody!

Live at Toast, Ivy Pool Club (29th September, 2018)—with Andrew Fazzolari

We’ve been itching to get this one up and available since that glorious Sydney Saturday afternoon at Ivy Pool Club a couple of weeks back—and here it is!

For context, we were asked to open up proceedings at the first ‘Toast’ event of the season and, despite the grim weather forecast; Mother Nature turned it on for all… so, we responded accordingly.

“The Fazz” and I—unofficially waving the Attic flag—took the opportunity to play some of our lower, slower, funky burners and had an immensely enjoyable time in the process!

Huge thanks to the Toast crew, and Christian Grande for the recommendation!

Hope you dig this one!

Live at Attic Launch Night featuring Fouk!

Well, what a truly magical night that was! We’re truly pleased to have brought you our first — of hopefully, many — Attic events and will reflect on this one with big smiles for a long, long time!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us — there were positive vibes right throughout the place from start-to-finish, and everyone in attendance was incredibly complimentary.

To see a project we’ve envisioned and carefully-crafted over some time — whilst throwing our blood and sweat into it in the process! — turn into something so wonderful leaves us with an enormous sense of satisfaction.

Fittingly, everyone brought their ‘A’ game musically:

To the Rabbit : mate, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. You’re a true gentleman of the scene. The opening set of any given night can present a tricky scenario and is absolutely critical, but you nailed it — even from the first sample, “No, I’m just some kind of sick idiot who’s seen too many young men die…” Just superb!

To Hans and Daniel (Fouk): Well, what can we say?! Everyone who witnessed the almost three-hour journey can attest that they were present for something very, very special, indeed.

As well as being talented producers, it’s refreshing to know that you’re seasoned and highly-accomplished technicians behind the 1’s and 2’s. You took our guests on a melodic journey and they remained with you for the long haul and danced the night away.

A special thanks also to Doris, Maria and Mike for your contributions and assistance throughout the night. This is very much a family affair, and we couldn’t have done it without you. A special mention to Andreas, too!

We’ll also have some photos, video and music from the night coming very shortly, too, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

So, with that, here is my recorded set from the evening. I played after Rabbit Taxi and right before Fouk. The crowd response was exceptional, and seeing it all build up in anticipation four our headline act was highly satisfying!

We’ll be back at it again very soon, so stay tuned for further announcements and dates! 😉

Thanks again, everyone. It’s been our absolute pleasure.
